Metamorphosis in action

Our wonderful caterpillars have emerged out of their cocoons as beautiful butterflies. After examining them for a few days, we released them outside and watched them fly away!

Earthworms

We have introduced 30 earthworms into the classroom! The children used soil and sand to make a home for our new visitors.

Obstacle course

We had lots of fun at the muddy obstacle course!

After many wet playtimes and lunchtimes, we decided to get our wellies on and have a splash in the puddles! It gave us lots of ideas for our writing lesson about what we like to do on rainy days!

Learning outdoors is fun!

Being outdoors provides ample opportunity to learn in different contexts. The children began by pretending the grass was lava and built a path to reach the 'safe ground'. They had to use their balance and coordination, not to mention their cooperation skills to work together to build a path using limited resources! They then split into two groups and devised obstacle courses for the rival group and were very creative with their designs! Some of the children decided to build kingdoms and castles during the outdoor learning session.. We all had wonderful fun!

Kindness Award

We are very proud of Rahaf and Nicola who received a Kindness Award from Miss Smith this week. Keep it up girls!

Our Caterpillars are finally in their cocoons!
